I’m sitting here at the coffee shop, working on a paper, and couldn’t help overhearing the conversation happening next to me. Some guy is honestly trying to tell the poor girl sitting with him that oil changes are nothing but some big conspiracy by the oil companies to sell more oil. According to him, you never actually need to change your oil.
He was also complaining that the old Model T and a modern Suburban get the same gas mileage. Right. Because it really makes sense to compare the fuel economy of a 1200 lb car with a 2.9L, 20 hp, 4-cylinder engine, to a 5700 lb vehicle with a 5.3L 320 hp V8.
