I was so freaking excited about the new iPhone. 3G data, full internet, GPS, WiFi, all wrapped up in that slick Apple UI — and for only $199! I was going to be the first one in line tomorrow. Then I went over to the AT&T iPhone FAQ, and learned that the $199 / $299 pricing is only good for current AT&T customers if you are eligible for an upgrade. I’m not eligible until next March!!! My price would be $399 / $499, which puts one more shiny new toy out of my price range. Damn you AT&T, I knew it had to be too good to be true.
Now, I fully understand that the price is only so low because AT&T is subsidizing. But even at the higher price point, you still have to sign up for a new two-year contract! Looks like I’m stuck with my crappy N75 for another 6 months…
Maybe if enough people complain, we’ll see a AT&T change their minds. Hah, yeah right.
